THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF BRD BIOMIMETIC RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY. LATEST UPDATE.
Morning I. Biomechanics/Biomaterials:
  • Stress distribution in anterior and posterior teeth and the natural history of occlusion and wear.
  • Classification, mechanical properties and selection of composite resins, “hybrids”, ceramics, CAD/CAM blocks.
  • Introducing short-fiber reinforced composites for bio-bases, dentin-replacement and build-ups.
Morning II. Adhesives and direct preparations design:
  • How to select the proper adhesive strategy for long-term success, foundations of dentin hybridization and IMMEDIATE DENTIN SEALING (IDS)
  • Visual aids and magnification.
  • Caries detection and caries removal endpoints.
  • Armamentarium and tooth preparation principles for anterior and posterior direct resin composites.
Afternoon I. Semi-(in)direct preparation design:
  • Preparations principles based on stress distribution, inlay vs. onlays.
  • Occlusal veneers in posterior teeth: “vonlays”, “veneerlays”, “crownlays, and endocrowns.
  • Mockup-driven anterior veneer preparation step-by-step.
Afternoon II. Light polymerization and shrinkage
  • Basics of polymerization and light curing.
  • Unrestricted vs. restricted shrinkage
  • Myth and facts about shrinkage-induced stresses.
  • V-factor (volume) vs. C-factor (configuration).
  • Stress-reduced approaches in direct posterior resin composites.
  • Stress visualization through the tube-test.
